BUFFALO, NEW YORK
– Seton Imaging is the latest independent radiology practice to join HEALTHeLINK, Western New York’s clinical information exchange as a data source. With authorized patient consent, physicians who are participating in HEALTHeLINK now have access to approximately 35,000 radiology reports and diagnostic quality images from Seton Imaging annually.

“Diagnostic imaging reports are an important component of one’s electronic medical record and we continue to work with local hospitals and independent radiology practices such as Seton Imaging to have this information immediately and securely available to treating physicians at the point of care,” said Dan Porreca, HEALTHeLINK’s executive director.

Founded in 1984, Seton Imaging is one of Western New York’s longest established radiology practices providing a complete range of high quality diagnostic imaging services and procedures including high field MRI, high field open MRI, MRA, CT, ultrasound, digital mammography, x-ray and bone density testing. Seton has locations in Amherst, North Tonawanda and provides MRI services at Kenmore Mercy Hospital.

“Seton Imaging is pleased to be part of HEALTHeLINK, an initiative that truly enhances patient care,” said Janine Janik, Chief Information Officer at Seton Imaging. “With the HEALTHeLINK connection, physicians are provided with access to complete and timely information needed for treatment and prevention of unnecessary or duplicate services.”

Currently 85% of the radiology reports generated in Western New York from hospitals and independent radiology practices such as Seton Imaging can be accessed through HEALTHeLINK by physicians and approved medical staff if a patient has provided his/her consent. Nearly 500,000 Western New Yorkers have already given their health care providers better access to the information they need by signing a HEALTHeLINK consent form. For more information on HEALTHeLINK or to obtain a consent form, visit www.wnyhealthelink.com.
